MY STORY

COVER LETTER

As a young boy baseball was literally my everything. Having been on the OBA championship Markham Mariners Team I tried out and made Team Ontario. In my second year with team Ontario as a catcher I became captain of the team. At that time we would play between 30-40 games in Canada, and between 60-70 games in the United States, per season. Back in those days if you asked me what my favourite thing to do was, I would have told you picking off a runner at third who's not paying attention, to shut down an inning. When I was 17 there was no doubt in my mind I was going to play pro’ ball for the Jays when I grew up!

When a medical anomaly, shoulder injury, cut my dream short I needed to find something I could be just as passionate about. Since my baseball career was no longer a possibility I knew the next step was to get training for a job that would allow a large enough income that I could save money. I enrolled in the Heavy Equipment Operators course at Sir Stanford Fleming College as the best paying jobs for people my age were in Northern Alberta working in the oil mines. After graduating I flew up North and got a job with Syncrude driving the biggest haul trucks in the world, Caterpillar 797’s. Days were long and hard but the pay was relatively good. I was fortunate enough that the company put Sirius Radio in every truck. This became my lifeline to the outside world. All shift, the only thing I could think about was getting back to my room and diving into my latest discovery online. Figuring out everything about them! How they approached there marketing strategy, seeing what worked and what didn’t. Soon after I started I got a notebook and began writing all my ideas down, preparing both financially and conceptually for the next step.

By 2015 I had saved enough funds to quit my job and chase my dreams of becoming s social media content creator full time. I turned to audio engineering and music production school first, at Harbourside IT in Vancouver. I created a seven track EP with behind the scenes footage and a project commercial. Once I got settled down in school I launched my fitness Instagram breaking the 10K followers mark in a little over two months. Then fashion, I created a his and hers streetwear and fitness apparel clothing line with more behind the scenes footage and a bunch of other great marketing materials. Lastly, I created a VLog series highlighting young entrepreneurs doing amazing things, as the marketing vehicle that ties it all together. It was amazing, the passion I had felt back when I was playing baseball had returned! I maintained my love of sport and athleticism throughout. I soon began to draw parallels between my old baseball life and my new one as a creator. In both worlds you need to get the right people, in the right places, at the right time, all pushing in the same direction in order to win. If you asked me what my favourite thing to do is today, I'd say it's being able to bring an idea from concept to reality, highlighting amazingly talented individuals.

In conclusion my undying love for the game that is social media, coupled with my in depth understanding of every step and program needed to create engaging content is why I feel I would be a valuable asset to your team.

PROJECTS/EXPERIENCE

Fitness Instagram Account Vancouver, BC/Toronto, ON “Boulevard Fitness”
  • In December of 2015 I started a fitness Instagram account to test out my well researched Instagram building knowledge and theories.

  • I found a videographer and we worked out a deal with a local gym owner shoot after-hours for the next two months. We got an incredible amount of footage and had a great time doing it.

  • In a little over two months I took my Instagram account from 340 followers, to over 12K. One video I created has over 25,000 views.

The Anne Sophie EP Vancouver, BC/Toronto, ON “Boulevard Music Group”

      • November 2015 - June 2016 I attended Harbourside IT in North Vancouver British Columbia.

      • This is the leading school in the country teaching the Ableton audio production software. The course consisted of four main subjects: Music production, Post- audio production, audio engineering and business behind the music.

      • This is where the first half of the seven track Ann Sophie Music Project was completed. The second half was finished in Toronto.

      • We shot the entire creation of the project from concept to reality in both cities and made two different edits of the footage. The first is a behind the scenes look at the creation of the project and the second is a promotional video for the vocalist that was on the project.

His and Hers Gym and Street Wear Lines Vancouver, BC/Toronto, ON

        “Boulevard Apparel”

      • Nearing the end of school in 2016 I created a seven piece mens street wear line.

      • We designed the clothing ourselves and got a local production house to make our samples in Vancouver.

      • We spent the next two weeks modelling and shooting our samples all over Vancouver and got some really incredible footage that we then turned into a promotional video for the line.

      • These videos we shot and the business plan we had crated landed us a grant from Futurepreneur which allowed us to create the three more lines. Womans Street Wear, Mens Fitness Apparel and Womans Fitness Apparel. This completed the his and hers collections in both the Street and Fitness vertical.

      • We have designed and samples eight different clothing products in total. We also have a bench towel product being our ninth product.

      • This is more a hobby of mine than anything else. I make the clothing I want to wear because I cant seem to find exactly what I'm looking for at times.

Lifestyle VLog Series Episodes 1 - 3 Toronto, Ontario “Boulevard Lifestyle”

      • In the creation of our music and fashion projects we realized that each step we had to take to complete them we were meeting some incredible people that needed marketing just like we did. This is was the birth of Boulevard Lifestyle. Soon after we shot three episodes a VLog series concept we had in Toronto with some truly incredible people.

      • The first Episode was shot in the Mad One Barber Shop Uptown Location. Isaih was twenty-one at the time and owned that barbershop with a partner. I thought that was pretty amazing at that age and he has always been good to me so we took the cameras over and made it happen.

      • The second episode we shot was with the Top Body Building Trainer in Canada. Mike Jackson is the one who got me started in the gym so even though he isn't a young entrepreneur it was only right to do an episode highlighting such an incredible individual.

      • The third episode we did was with one of my childhood best friends Devin Nakao. I was actually the one who took Devin to his first guitar lesson, now he is engineering for Justing Beiber, Bruno Mars and Post Malone to only mention a few. Devin has made incredible strides in his field and helped me out a lot with the Ann Sophie Project. He was the first person I thought of when this concept came to me. He is mixing and mastering full time completely independently and I think thats amazing.
